By joining the Legal Affairs Department of the City of Laval, you will become part of a large public organization with a human dimension that values professional development and work-life balance. As a lawyer, you will act as a legal advisor to all City services.
More specifically, you will be called to:
- Act as a legal advisor to City services;
- Draft regulations, policies, and directives applicable to the City and its citizens;
- Draft, analyze, and comment on contracts;
- Draft, analyze, and comment on procedural documents and may be called to make representations before the courts;
- Collaborate with services to safeguard the interests of the City and ensure regulatory compliance;
- Conduct legal research and monitor recent developments;
- Analyze and comment on draft laws and regulations and inform City services of changes and their impacts;
- Support and contribute to the development of the organization’s legal knowledge.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in law;
- Have six (6) years of relevant experience;
- Be a member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
